As the weather warms up and the flowers begin to bloom, we also celebrate our moms (or the mother figures in our lives) in the month of May! Here are some great activities and events in Fort Wayne, Indiana to celebrate mom on her special day.

Celebrate Mother's Day in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Mother's Day Brunch at the Zoo

Mom has probably taken you to the Fort Wayne Zoo many times in your childhood. Why not take her, for a special event in her honor?

The Fort Wayne Zoo is open for the season, and there are many updates this year that you and Mom can enjoy, including Coastal Cove, which features sea lions and harbor seals.

Then, head over to the African Journey Parkview Physicians Pavilion for a delicious Mother's Day Brunch, featuring scrambled eggs, sausage, pastries, fresh fruit salad, and seasoned breakfast potatoes. They'll also offer coffee and orange juice!

Mother's Day Brunch at the Zoo
Sunday, May 11, 10 – 11:30am & 12:30 - 2pm

Tickets:
$30 for adults  /  $15 for kids
Normal Zoo admission will apply for non-members.

Spring Break at the Botanical Conservatory

Mother's Day at the Botanical Conservatory

If your mom loves plants, she'll have plenty to see at the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory downtown. On Mother's Day, the conservatory is offering free admission to moms (they define "mom" loosely to include aunts, grandmas — anyone who is a "mom" to you). Enjoy the various gardens in the conservatory, and Mom will even leave with a free plant (while supplies last). While you're there, be sure to step into the butterfly tent and enjoy the Live Butterfly Exhibit going on now!

Afterward, head to the Conservatory's Mother's Day Plant Sale at McMillen Park Friday, May 9 – Sunday, May 11.

Mother's Day Picnic and Wildflower Hike

Hike among the lovely forest flowers at Lindenwood Nature Preserve, then gather around the campfire with your picnic basket. After lunch, join a guided hike with the naturalist through a carpet of beautiful blooms.
