Why Fort Wayne:
The IMEA Professional Development Conference had been held in Indianapolis for several years, but board members decided it was time to find a new host city. The conference needed a location where attendees could meet in a central location with quality venues, entertainment and restaurants. Additionally, IMEA seeked support from the local community. After Visit Fort Wayne and local IMEA advocate Barbara Resch presented an impressive proposal in June 2009 and hosted board members on a site visit, IMEA was sold on Fort Wayne. As a result, the conference moved out of Indianapolis for the first-time ever and continues to call Fort Wayne home to this day.
